The IoT is new enough that everyone trying to implement it, or carrying an IoT-related title, is largely self-taught. There aren’t too many IoT majors coming out of the engineering schools and most of the executives have come out of the IT departments, with IT skills.

Well, now there is a guide to how to leverage the IoT to achieve better business results. In the new book from Aeris (News - Alert) Communications, “The Internet of Things for Business,” readers can find out how to get cost reductions, more efficient uses of employee time and dozens of real-world M2M and IoT applications.

There are quite a few guides out there for consumers, but none for the enterprise fo small business looking tto get real results. Executives and project managers need an industry and technological overview before they can hit the ground running in M2M communications.

This free eBook, available for download now, focuses on how the IoT industry impacts business outcomes. Some of the topics covered include: how wireless devices are networked and locate themselves; sensors, how they work, and what they do; security technologies used to protect IoT data; how to scale up an IoT project to immense proportions; how to manage the lifecycle of an IoT deployment; and using Big Data analytics to gain insight from the IoT ecosystem.

It’s all addressed form an enterprise point of view, because executives who recognize the potential and importance of the IoT don’t necessarily know how to get started.
