The Department of Future Studies of the Kerala University has launched a one-year postgraduate diploma course in Knowledge Management (PGDKM).

An experienced set of persons from industry and university would be the faculty of the course, which will be launched under the UGC Innovative Programme.

The total course fee is Indian Rupees 19,555.

Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) Services, KPO is estimated to reach USD 50 billion by 2012, according to global market research and Intellectual Property services firm Evalueserve.

Those attending this course will benefit from training in the knowledge domain so that they get easily absorbed in relevant companies.

One has to secure a minimum of 55 per cent marks in any of the following graduation streams: Engineering/Technology, Medicine, Postgraduates in Science and Applied Sciences.

Candidates chosen for the admission will be evaluated based on performance in the qualifying degree and the entrance test.

Once students secure admission in this college they will be trained in software tools on knowledge engineering. Also, both theory and practical sessions would be offered to the students as part of the course.

Equal weightage would be given for qualifying degree and entrance test, which will comprise multiple choice questions to test the applicant’s aptitude in various fields such as databases, data interpretation and analysis, logic and reasoning, comprehension and general awareness.
