Cobalt Telephone Technologies has released its new, upgraded RingGo iPhone (News - Alert) App, which is available to download from iPhone or the iTunes Apple (News - Alert) Store.

This newest version gives users more control over their account details and speeds up payment, said company officials.

Company officials said that RingGo Xpress users can now locate and pay for their parking directly through the application, rather than using the normal RingGo interactive phone system.

RingGo iPhone app version 2.0 features a new RingGo Account Management screen, allowing users to update their name or email address. Moreover, motorists are able to now change or add to their stored vehicle details, speeding up the payment process, even when using a different car.

Company officials said that the RingGo history page provides users up to a week’s worth of data, showing where and when the motorist has parked previously. Also, the new version is fully compatible with the Apple iPad, providing high resolution images.

The company is launching a new version of its iPhone application with many additional features, said Joanna Miller, CEO at Cobalt, adding that being able to park quickly and pay securely via the application has been the company’s main focus, but being able to amend or delete vehicles has been a popular request from the customers too.

“Our aim for RingGo has always been to make life simpler – and now, no matter how you want to pay – by iPhone, mobile web browser, online, text or IVR – there’s an option that suits everyone,” Miller said.

As with all Cobalt’s services, payment security is a prime consideration. And, to comply with Cobalt’s PCI (News - Alert) DSS Tier 1 accreditation, the first-time RingGo iPhone user provides credit or debit card details either through Cobalt’s secure website, or via the standard IVR service, said company officials.

Once this information automatically transfers to the iPhone payment screen with just the last four digits displayed, users can easily make secure payment by entering the card’s 3-digit security code, said company officials.

Earlier this month, City of Edinburgh Council contracted Cobalt to implement its RingGo phone parking in the city.
