The winter snow in Buffalo, NY is legendary, and cynical minds might think it was the mountains of white stuff that nudged a local company there to acquire a Florida business. But in reality, Buffalo-based IVR Technology Group LLC has acquired 800 Adept, a Florida company that specializes in call tracking and call analytics, in its ongoing efforts to expands its business and maintain dominance in the field.
Located in the Orlando, Fla., region, 800 Adept helps organizations track, analyze and optimize voice interactions for greater marketing return on investment. 800 Adept sells call tracking and analytics for Fortune 500 companies. According to the company, its main objective is to be “the vanguard for advancement and innovations in telephone routing technologies and strategic market analysis.” That mission fits in perfectly with IVR tech, which bills itself as building “highly secure voice and text-based applications that are simply better.”
According to a report in Buffalo Business First, the deal makes a lot of sense for both companies, with their mutual focus on IVR.
"Combined, these two companies have over 50 years of experience in the IVR, telephony and text-based industry," said Mike Byrne, CEO of IVR Tech. "This makes us one of the most experienced groups in this field. We've also doubled our client base and increased our internal skill set immeasurably.”
IVR Technology Group's President Akash Desai agreed, noting that his company has about $2.5 million in revenue, and that 800 Adept has about $2 million.
The deal now means that about 27 people now work at the combined company, BBF reported.
Additional products produced by the company include a suite of interactive text response products, which, Desai said, are used for marketing purposes, to determine which geography gives a customer the biggest return on investment.
