Christian Stredicke of pbxnsip and snom Listed in TMC's Top 100 IP Communications Voices

By Mae Kowalke, TMCnet Senior Editor

Technology Marketing Corporation, publisher of Internet Telephony Magazine and TMCnet.com, this week released a list of the Top 100 Voices in IP Communications. The list is the centerpiece of the magazine’s 100th issue, also out this week.

Among the people on the list is Christian Stredicke, CEO of both pbxnsip (a company that specializes in SIP-based IP PBX (News - Alert) solutions) and snom technology (a company that specializes in open standards SIP for VoIP).

“It is great to participate in one of the biggest technology transition process that history has seen,” Stredicke said in a statement. “IP telephony offers an interesting mix of technology, politics and business.”

He added: “TMC (News - Alert) has been there right from the beginning, and there is still a lot of work to do to explain customers, service providers, integrators, vendors and other involved people about the latest opportunities in our industry.”

Stredicke founded snom in 1996, and since then has served as head of technology for the company, which continues to grow as a VoIP phone manufacturer. Stredicke founded his second company, pbxnsip (News - Alert), to focus on IP PBX-related technology.

Stredicke holds a Ph.D. in engineering, a Master’s degree in computer science, and a Master’s degree in business administration. He recently co-authored his first Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) Request for Comments (RFC), which is listed under number 4504.

Launched in February 1998, Internet Telephony Magazine is the longest-running publication dedicated completely to coverage of IP communications.

“Our committee looked back over the course of the last decade, and came up with 100 people who we felt should be counted among the Top 100 Voices,” said Rich Tehrani, TMC president and group editor-in-chief.  “The common thread among all of the Top 100 Voices is that they played a part in the birth, growth and maturity of the IP Communications market.”

In addition to being profiled in the magazine, the “Top 100 Voices” will be honored at a special reception hosted by Rich Tehrani during Internet Telephony Conference & EXPO West (Oct. 10-13, 2006) in San Diego.

For more information about pbxnsip, see the company’s TMCnet.com channel, IPBX. Both pbxnsip and snom also are exhibiting at IT EXPO; check out their displays at booths #131 and #104, respectively.
