NTT America, a wholly owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com) and a Tier-1 global IP network services provider, has joined hands with Capacity Media to offer technology workshop for Latin American operators.
The workshop, “Best Practices for Network and Operational Management” technology workshop, which will be held on March 21, 2011 in Sao Paulo, Brazil, is being sponsored by NTT America (News - Alert) along with Juniper Networks and Cariden Technologies.
Officials with NTT America said that the workshop is designed as a high-level forum to provide Latin American network operators the opportunity to learn from industry experts, such as the company, that have significant real-world experience in Network Operations Center (NOC (News - Alert)) and operational management.
The workshop, company officials pointed out will also give an opportunity to the attendees to discuss their own experiences, challenges and successes with the experts, as well as problem solve from theoretical case studies and develop effective strategies to optimize their networks.
“NTT America has broad experience in the Latin American market as well as other emerging markets, so we were thrilled when they offered that expertise for this workshop,” said Ros Irving, managing director of Capacity Media, in a statement.
Irving said that attendees are guaranteed to benefit from the breadth and depth of knowledge NTT America experts have about network and operational management.
According to company officials, specific topics that will be covered within the workshop include-Effective Management of Your Network Operations: How to Improve Efficiency and Performance of Your NOC and Operations Teams; Troubleshooting on Your Network: Disaster Recovery Planning Strategies and Problem-Solving Techniques and Preparing for IPv6: Obstacles and Opportunities.
“We’re committed to supporting the Latin American telecommunications sector, where we’re able to leverage lessons learned from our work in other emerging markets around the world to help network operators provide high-quality service locally,” said Michael Wheeler (News - Alert), vice president, global IP network at NTT America.
Wheeler said that Latin American markets provide a unique opportunity for the company, and the company looks forward to continuing to make connections there and share expertise.
TMCnet in February reported that NTT America is looking to stay at the forefront of cloud solutions by being one of the first infrastructure hosting providers in the world to launch a hosted cloud solution based on VMware’s vCloud Director virtualization software into the company’s cloud hosting offerings.
The move will allow organizations of all sizes to capitalize on the advantages of utility-based cloud computing.
