Millennials (roughly teens and those up to about 30 years of age) expect a level of communications and access to information many will find confusing, says NTT (News - Alert) America executive Michael Wheeler. They just expect to be able to use the tools they are familiar with, at work, Wheeler says.
Among other things, that is important because Millennials will represent the single largest customer and employee segment for most companies, within 10 years, says Bomgar (News - Alert) co-founder Nathan McNeill.
Perhaps to a degree unusual for older generations, Millennials expect to be connected all the time, says Paul Baron (News - Alert), VideoMost vice president (Spirit Technologies). Also, "technology" is seen in a different way, says McNeill. "Technology is an aesthetic experience. There is an expectation that technology is about their persona."
"That's a significant shift," McNeill says. In the past, technology has been more of a "geek" thing about "speeds and feeds."
