NTT (News - Alert) America, a Tier-1 global IP network services provider, sent its representatives to participate at the FiRe Global: West Coast Conference in Seattle.
Doug Junkins, NTT America’s (News - Alert) chief technology officer and vice president of IP development, participated in the panel titled, “The Future of Telecommunications: Building Services on Bandwidth.” In this informative dialog, Junkins – along with an executive from Deutsche Telekom (News - Alert) – discussed trends in the Global IP space and identify solutions for the growing market.
What is Junkins background?
According to NTT officials, Junkins serves as both the chief technology officer of f NTT America and its vice present of IP development for the company’s Global IP Network Business Unit. But prior to this role, he had a leadership position at Verio. He also has earned a master of science in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado - Colorado Springs, and a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of Washington.
He is a frequenter of industry events.
Other attendees included Brian Bershad, director of research and development at Google; Ty Carlson, Architect, SiArch at Microsoft (News - Alert) Corp.; Michael Copeland, senior writer at Fortune magazine and several others.
And FiRe Global, in case you haven’t heard of it, was a 12-hour conference modeled event leveraging the presence of some of the industry’s finest thought leaders... under one roof. It was hosted by Mark Anderson, CEO of Strategic News Service.
The event was held at The Fairmont Olympic Hotel at 411 University Street in Seattle, Washington, on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2010 from 4:30 – 5 p.m. – it promised to be an entertaining and informative venue to share ideas on the IP Transit space.
