Business communications solutions provider Bandwidth.com announced Monday that its technology is now being used by IP
telephony and IP presence solutions provider Mitel (News - Alert) in its solution centers. These centers, located in five locations across the U.S., are where customers preview Mitel’s solutions in a live environment.
At the Chicago, Costa Mesa, Atlanta, New York and Herndon VA solution centers, Mitel will be using Bandwidth.com’s SIP
trunking VoIP solution to demonstrate solution capabilities to customers. Installation at all centers is expected to be complete by the end of June, Bandwidth.com said in its Monday announcement.
This enhancement to Mitel’s solution centers also includes hardware from two other partners: Edgewater Networks (News - Alert), Inc., and Ingate
â Systems. The devices being used are SIP trunking
certified by both Mitel and Bandwidth.com.
This is hardly the first shared initiative by Mitel and Bandwidth.com; the two companies have been partners since late 2006. As part of this partnership, Bandwidth.com bundles its IP trunking technology with unified communications solutions from Mitel to serve business customers throughout the U.S.
“Solution centers are an invaluable way for us to showcase our Unified Communications (News - Alert) to customers and partners,” said Dan Mondor, president of Mitel, in a statement. “Bandwidth.com enables us to show our market leading SIP capabilities in action while allowing customers to experience product firsthand, the real-world business benefits our solutions deliver.”
Nathan Cameron, vice president of sales at Bandwidth.com, added that Mitel is one of the company’s strongest partners.
“We believe the benefit of showing prospects how our software and hardware work together is a tremendous selling point,” Cameron said in a statement. “The ability to show the technology in the solution center further validates the significance for businesses.”
