Video Conferencing Market Poised for Growth
By Michael Guta, Contributing Writer

The development of wireless broadband and powerful mobile computing devices now make it possible to communicate with video from virtually anywhere. This has given businesses large and small the ability to easily integrate video conferencing as part of their overall communications solutions. The fast rate of adoption has been responsible for the steady growth of the market, as highlighted by the latest Transparency Market Research (TMR). Titled “Video Conferencing Market - Global Industry Analysis, Size, Share, Growth, Trends and Forecast 2014 - 2020,” the report expects the video conferencing market to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 9.36 percent from 2014 to 2020.

Based on this growth, the research firm projects the market will be worth $6.4 billion by the end of the forecast period. In reaching this conclusion, TMR looked the many different segments in communications that will drive organizations to start adopting or increasing their use of video conferencing. This includes the increased globalization of businesses and the operational cost of doing business internationally.

The TMR analysis observed different video conferencing deployment models which were segmented into, on-premises video conferencing, managed video conferencing services and cloud-based video conferencing. Additionally, some other factors were also considered, such as budget, scalability, availability and security.

In addressing the video conferencing market, TMR said, “These solutions are broadly implemented by global corporate enterprises due to their cost reduction and operational efficiency. In the government operations, video conferencing solutions have been implemented to increase operational efficiency and to reduce the cost.”

As more companies expand their operations globally, communicating with all of their assets and resources can get expensive. With IP communication now common place around the world, businesses can use the technology to establish connections between all of their facilities no matter how many offices, contacts or employees they have globally.

The availability of IP phones with video conferencing features gives all businesses, but especially SMBs access to enterprise grade communications solutions. One company that makes IP phones businesses of any size can leverage is Yealink (News - Alert).

The company manufactures video collaboration solutions to extend the conferencing environment to IP phones, PCs, smartphones and tablets. The Yealink system is designed to be easily integrated into mainstream IP-PBX (News - Alert) or UC systems as well as cloud-based video conference service systems.

With the launch of its flagship desktop video conferencing phone, the SIP VP-T49G, Yealink delivered a device with support for three-way conferencing in 1080p HD video on an eight inch touchscreen with Optima HD voice technology.
