Earlier this year, Gigaset announced it was bringing its own smartphone to the market. At this year’s IFA, the company shed a bit more light on what kind of phone it is going to be bringing to the market. The company announced it will also be launching a mobile dock able to take the smartphone it’s rolling out and combine it with the traditional landline phones.
This particular solution has obvious implications for a number of businesses around the globe. The office worker who is carrying around their Gigaset smartphone with a low charge will be able to bring it into their office, whether it’s at home or at their place of businesses. Then, while the phone is charging, they can actually access the landline in order to keep going about business as usual.
Gigaset says its new Mobile Dock LM550 is storage and charging station that allows for people to connect via Bluetooth and DECT (News - Alert). There are other smaller benefits to this kind of a setup, including the fact that you will no longer have to go on the search for your smartphone because you will know exactly where you are plugging it in at all times.
If this is the way you connect your smartphone to your DECT phone, you will be using the dock to charge and connect the phone. This kind of dock also allows those who might have a bad connection to their cellular network. There are plenty of businesses that actually block reception. You no longer have to tell someone that you are stepping into a building and you need to end the call. Now you can step into your building, plug the smartphone into the dock and then transfer the call to your officer’s DECT phone line, keeping your business running smoothly and efficiently.
The Gigaset MobileDock LM550 in Black launched in mid-September and will cost around 60 euros ($70).
