Report: Integrated Solutions Preferred Over Standalone Products for EMEA Market
By Michelle Amodio, TMCnet Contributor

Vendors in the EMEA market are focusing on more for their customers, namely bundled packages that are equipped with audio, video, and Web conferencing solutions, per market intelligence from Frost & Sullivan (News - Alert).

The report, “EMEA Conferencing Services Market” looks at the bigger picture; according to a press statement, service providers are hearing the demands of the enterprise customer, that Webcasts, team workspaces with other unified communication applications like telephony, voice mail, instant messaging and presence, when bundled together are more attractive than standalone products.

The numbers support this: earned revenue totals $1.9 billion in 2014 and estimates this to reach $2.6 billion by 2019.

“Hosted/cloud video conferencing services that enable interoperability across endpoints appeal to a broader user base in EMEA owing to the rise in complexity and number of devices on networks,” said Frost & Sullivan Digital Transformation Practice Research Director Adrian Drozd in a statement. “Feature-rich solutions that support mobility and the bring-your-own-device trend are also popular among customers in these regions.”

On the customer side, one of the major benefits of using a bundled communication package is relying on one service provider. According to the report, the focus is mostly audio, hosted Web, hosted video and managed video conferencing services.

“Higher sales volumes of IP-based audio conferencing solutions as well as hosted and managed video conferencing services will, nevertheless, promote revenue growth in the market,” said Frost & Sullivan Digital Transformation Practice Senior Director Ashwin Iyer.

As video conferencing adoption grows, companies are increasingly looking at ways to integrate it into their unified communications architectures, extend video conferencing to mobile and remote users via desktop and cellular devices, enable video conferencing across company boundaries, and meet the need to manage video delivery and quality.

Providers like Yealink (News - Alert) offer IP phones that go beyond the basic IP headset; its products include phones and equipment with full HD video, making it easy for businesses to collaborate visually from anywhere in the world.

Adoption trends are all pointing to enterprises accepting that we’ve reached the age of video. As managed services are on the rise and scalable video becomes more accessible, and when bundled with other modern telecommunications systems, it’s a good thing for the industry.
