C Spire is the latest company to launch a new suite of services that will help home automation take the next leap forward, and bring IP-based communications into the future. C Spire’s suite, called C Spire Home, features ultra-fast 1 Gbps Internet access. The suite’s portfolio of services will include this fiber-based Gigabit Internet service, as well as digital HD television, IP home phone services, new home automation, security and monitoring services.

C Spire says it will officially be rolling out the new IP-based solutions by the end of the year, and this particular rollout will bring those who are looking forward to owning their own smart home quite a bit of good news. C Spire is just the latest company to jump into the smart house fray. Honda (News - Alert) has even attempted to get into the pool. While super-fast Internet is one of the features of the technology, the solution will also be able to help offer up a self adjusting thermostat, while also being able to control the lighting.

The solutions will be able to allow people to control all of these smart devices using a wide range of platforms that include their desktop and laptop computers, as well as their mobile devices.

The collection includes cameras that can see live and recorded video inside and outside the home. These videos can then be beamed to a user’s smartphone in real time. The system also includes other security features like window and door sensors as well as smoke, carbon monoxide and broken glass sensors. Users will also be able to lock and unlock the doors while also working the thermostats and appliances in the home.

The C Spire Home solution set includes a color control panel that was built by Honeywell (News - Alert). This suite will be the primary hub when managing the company’s all-digital home security, monitoring and automation platform.
