A steady increase in the number of Internet users in Thailand and greater access to technology is transforming the digital environment in that country. NTT (News - Alert) Communications Corporation (NTT Com), which specializes in delivering high-quality voice, data and IP services to its customers around the world, is thus seeking to take advantage of this by establishing a new point of presence (PoP) in Bangkok, Thailand.
The provider is stated to operate the world's largest Tier-1IPv6 backbone, which has been fully upgraded to run dual stack both IPv4 and IPv6. By offering dual-stack access via its Tier-1IP network, NTT Com will enable local ISPs and also multinational companies provide enhanced Internet-related services in Thailand and other countries.
With Thailand functioning as the center of the GMS (News - Alert), the new PoP is expected to enhance the Internet environment throughout the GMS, which has a population of approximately 300 million. The new PoP is expected to become operational on July 1.
NTT Com has been upgrading its global tier 1 IP backbone to provide more bandwidth and direct connections to ISPs. This will also help tackle the rapid increase in Internet traffic in Thailand.
Direct connection to major ISPs in many countries makes Internet access faster and minimizes distance delays. Connecting to NTT Com’s Tier 1 IP network will ensure the seamless providing of services and is expected to help service providers deliver high-performance, low-latency and cost-effective global access to their customers.
Even companies looking to expand their global business in Thailand appear to be relying heavily on NTT Com’s Tier-1IP network.
NTT Com’s Tier-1 IP network and related services won the Asia Communication Awards, Global Carrier Awards and Telecom Asia Awards, and it is aware of how important its network is in connecting Thailand to other countries.
