Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is growing among businesses large and small. Users can use cell phones, computers or landline phones with a VoIP service, but IP phones are taking over when it comes to business VoIP adoption. IP phones offer quality, features and costs that companies demand. 

Yealink, 3CX, Patton, Iristel, Run and ThinkTel (News - Alert) are teaming up to host an IP Telephony Reseller Road Show this spring, from April 29 to May 9, in five locations across Canada. It will feature vendor presentations, product showcasing, live system demonstrations, product roadmaps and one-on-one time with solution specialists.

Yealink will showcase its IP phones’ interoperability with Patton Gateways and 3CX. Yealink phones are also interoperable with Digium (News - Alert), Xorcom, IPsmarx  and the Metaswitch platform. Last year, a 3CX survey found Yealink (News - Alert) IP phones to be the most popular in the industry, with the highest voting rate of 21 percent.

Iristel and ThinkTel will showcase their SIP trunking solutions. A SIP trunk is primarily a concurrent call that is routed over an IP backbone using VoIP technology. They’re used in conjunction with an IP-PBX (News - Alert) and are thought of as replacements for traditional PRIs or analog circuits. Iristel’s SIP trunking solutions feature domestic and long distance termination through its VoIP network, increased reliability, IP connectivity to PSTN, 911 and 411 services and full Asterisk (News - Alert) computability.

ThinkTel’s SIP trunking solutions streamline voice infrastructure and allow users to manage capacity more efficiently. Users can seamlessly pool and dynamically allocate their channel capacity across multiple sites, create an extended local calling area by assigning DIDs from multiple rate centers to a single SIP trunk and eliminate the need to pay for telephone services at each location.
