Microsoft Lync is popular business application where IP Phone (News - Alert) systems integrate with Microsoft Office and documents can be shared while teleconferencing. The VoIP specialists, snom has recently signed a deal with Westcon Group (News - Alert) to distribute its IP and Lync endpoint services to Europe, Africa, and the Middle East (EMEA).

Since Westcon Group is now collaborating with Microsoft (News - Alert) on their Lync Hardware Catalogue, senior executives see this as a move to promote and facilitate Lync business in the aforementioned regions.

Westcon Group states that snom technolgy’s IP Phone system is much more than just voice, allowing productivity features that are integral to Microsft Lync 2010. In fact, snom technology’s IP phones are officially compliant with Microsoft Lync, an endorsement that most of the competition cannot claim about their technologies.

The Lync Server 2010 Multitenant Hosting Pack includes integration with Microsoft Exchange Server, Microsoft Outlook, and other communication technologies, and enables customers to manage geographically dispersed offices and mobile users in a way that reduces travel expenses, while maintaining highly collaborative team environments.
