Good News Around Christmas From snom: Free VoIP Phones

By David Sims, TMCnet Contributing Editor

With all the other holiday cheer this year, don’t forget that snom’s Lync in a Box promotion, which gives snom VARs and official distributors the chance to earn savings when deploying Microsoft (News - Alert) Lync with snom 300 UC edition or snom 821 UC edition phones, will be finished at the end of 2011.

If you’re in North America, contact Tommy Lee (News - Alert) or Paul Jamieson, if you’re in Latin America contact Reinaldo Rodriguez.

According to snom officials, partners purchasing more than 10 snom 300 UC edition or snom 821 UC edition desktop phones in conjunction with Microsoft Lync 2010 will be eligible to receive up to 100 free similar model phones.

Merry Christmas indeed. How does Lync in a Box work? Glad you asked: If you buy 1 snom 821 UC edition you get 1 free with a 10 unit minimum purchase, up to 100 maximum. If you buy 2 snom 300 UC editions you get 1 free with a 10 unit minimum purchase, again up to 100 maximum.

Both phones, qualified under the Microsoft Compatible Devices program, are standards-based SIP phones qualified for use with Lync, meaning you know you’ll save time and operating costs on a simple installation.

The snom 300 UC edition is the company’s most popular phone, a general purpose desktop phone for everyday work. It has a two-line display, 6 programmable function keys and supports four separate SIP registrations.

The snom 821 UC edition is a bit more full-featured, described by company officials as a full-color display executive phone with a gigabit switch, high-resolution display, 16 customizable function keys and a full duplex speakerphone.

Both phones feature an XML-driven mini-browser and power over Ethernet and snom’s superior sound quality.
