Mobility is earning the label of a must-have in today’s enterprise space. Companies expect communications providers to offer functional solutions that allow employees to work where and how they so choose. Coupled with this expectation of flexibility is this little thing call BYOD that is more and more prevalent.
This week, communications provider Digium is answering enterprise’s demands with the release of Switchvox (News - Alert) Softphone for iPhone App. It is available for free from the Apple Store and supports iOS 8.
"The Switchvox Softphone for iPhone lets you take your business phone wherever you go, so that you have the tools you need to serve your customers effectively and collaborate with coworkers," said Adam Kramer, product manager for the Switchvox product line.
The app offers functionality much like a desktop phone, with features including receiving and dialing calls, voicemail, presence and others’ status. From one’s iPhone (News - Alert) one can access a call log for ease of redialing, control audio options and have full access to contacts.
This new release addresses the needs of today’s more mobile and virtual workforce by providing a means to maintain high levels of collaboration and productivity through one’s iPhone. Today’s dispersed workforce calls for seamless communication regardless of location—without a connection to clients or team members it is pretty tough to ensure any level of prosperity.
Kramer continued, "Switchvox and the desktop Digium (News - Alert) IP Phones set a high bar for quality and user experience, and the app raises that bar; it's intuitive for users and effortless for administrators to manage."
Digium is one of many IP communications innovators, and it is vital to not just pick the first option but the pick the one that best suits your business. In this ever-shrinking world we live the ability to be mobile and remain plugged in is a key ingredient to long term enterprise success.
