Singapore Technologies Engineering Ltd (ST Engineering) has announced that Vision Technologies Aerospace Incorporated (VT Aerospace) has completed the acquisition of 100 percent equity interest in Volant Aerospace, LLC (Volant).
The acquisition was completed following the fulfillment of customary conditions precedent.
Following the acquisition, Volant will become a wholly owned subsidiary of VT Aerospace.
VT Aerospace, which owns four aerospace operating companies in Mobile, Alabama; San Antonio, Texas and Hartford, Connecticut, is a subsidiary of Vision Technologies Systems, Inc. (VT Systems), the U.S. headquarters of ST Engineering.With a current staff of approximately 60 specialists, Volant provides new and refurbished interior parts and support services to aircraft operators, leasing companies, integrators and maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) service providers.
Officials with VT Aerospace said that Volant will be managed as part of the aerospace sector’s global MRO network, working closely with the company’s MRO subsidiaries, affiliates and in-house engineering and development center, as well as its engineering design specialist, DRB Aviation, to offer one-stop turnkey cabin retrofit services.
The acquisition is in line with ST Engineering's strategic initiative to develop the cabin interior engineering, manufacturing and repair capabilities for its aerospace sector. An industry-leading provider of commercial aircraft interior reconfiguration and modification services, Volant will strengthen the aerospace sectors cabin refurbishment business.
VT Systems (Vision Technologies Systems, Inc.) is an engineering company providing integrated solutions to the commercial and government markets in the aerospace, electronics, land systems and marine sectors.
Back in December, VT iDirect (News - Alert), Inc. (iDirect), a company of VT Systems, Inc. (VT Systems), announced that NewSat (News - Alert) Limited (NewSat), Australia's largest pure satellite communications company, has enhanced its network infrastructure with the purchase of a new iDirect Evolution universal satellite hub, and upgraded to iDirect's SatManage 5.2 network management software.
The investment will enable NewSat to expand its existing service offerings and capitalize on the upcoming launch of its Jabiru-1 high throughput satellite (HTS), which will deliver more than 7.6 GHz of Ka-band capacity across Australia, South East Asia, the Middle East and North Africa. iDirect is a major player in satellite-based IP communications technology.
