Businesses seeking a competitive edge in the current communication landscape will fail to improve their business processes if they don't resort to IP communication. This was the message that Roland Russwurm, founder and manager of the Munich-based unified communications specialist ANDTEK GmbH., sought to drive home.
In a press release, Russwurm pointed out that IP communications would benefit all companies regardless of their size. But, for this to happen, the communication structures in all companies needed to be matched with corporate business processes. IP communication would appear to be well positioned to do that.
To effectively prove his point, Russwurm cited some tools that were used to support business processes. He spoke of the attendant console solution "AND Desktop AC" of the Munich-based unified communications specialist ANDTEK GmbH and said that it was essential for all companies that handled their phone calls multifunctionality through a computer.
He pointed out that with an IP communication solution in place, companies would be able to get field information about all the phones that were within the company.
IP phone users could make calls conveniently and privately via their headsets, have the ability to control their phones using various devices, have access to call lists and also search corporate directories.
However, Communication expert Russwurm cautioned companies against adopting IP communications without doing the necessary spadework. He urged them to assess whether the capacity and quality of the networks was adequate before embarking on implementing IP communications across the company.
He pointed out that companies needed to focus not only on the available bandwidth but also needed to focus on latency and efficient bandwidth distribution. It was also essential, he said to install 'quality of service' across the network.
The success of any business organization depends on the extent of 'customer satisfaction ' , which in turn, requires good communication. IP communications not only allows improved communication but also helps companies reap the benefits of low cost infrastructure.
