It looks like Hitachi ID Systems (News - Alert) is off to a strong start for 2012 as the company’s primary identity management solution, Hitachi ID Identity Manager, is being honored by Info Security Products Guide, an industry-leading information security research and advisory manual.
Hitachi (News - Alert) ID Identity Manager, a solution designed to automate and simplify the task of managing users and entitlements across multiple systems and applications throughout the user lifecycle, has been named a finalist for the 2012 Global Excellence Awards in the Identity Management category. Most often, organizations implement Hitachi ID Manager to help users obtain access to the appropriate access rights and that redundant rights are immediately deactivated when necessary. This is accomplished by combining automation, a self-service request portal, approval workflows, access certification and policy engines.
The Global Excellence Awards spotlight security and IT vendors with advanced, revolutionary products and services. Hitachi ID Systems (News - Alert) will be honored Feb. 29 at the awards ceremony.
"It’s a privilege to be shortlisted,” said Gideon Shoham, CEO of Hitachi ID Systems, in a press release. “This recognition emphasizes our commitment to manage identities and access rights, to lower IT operating costs and to comply with regulations."
This recognition is only a small mark on what’s to come for identity management solutions companies like Hitachi ID Systems in 2012. Just recently, Shoham shared with TMCnet his views on the current state and future trends in the identity and access management market. Whereas 2011 experienced rapid growth in the privileged access management market and a renewed interest in self-service credential management, according to Shoham, 2012 will be a year of the “bring your own device” trend, a continuation of market consolidation, increased deployment of identity and access management as a service, as well as the acceptance of identity administration and access governance “as two sides of the same coin.”
