As of June 2011, Hitachi ID Systems (News - Alert), a leading provider of identity and access management solutions, approached a major milestone as its solutions have been licensed by more than 900 organizations worldwide, with a combined user count of nearly 12 million.
“This milestone is very significant for Hitachi ID Systems,” said Gideon Shoham, CEO at Hitachi ID Systems, in a release. “While we continue to see demand for our Password Management software, the strongest growth is actually in our newer solutions: Identity Manager and Privileged Access Manager. There is clearly strong interest in the marketplace to address internal controls and regulatory issues, which leads enterprises to secure privileged accounts, enforce SoD policies, provision users with roles and automate access certification processes.”
Hitachi ID Systems is based in Calgary, Canada, with regional offices located in Vancouver, Barrie, Ottawa, Montreal, Denver, Dallas, New York, Amsterdam and Brisbane.
“Our solutions are selling well because they address clear business needs – onboarding, deactivation and access management – at a reasonable cost,” Shoham added. “Customers only have to buy a single product – for example, Identity Manager – and they get all the required technology to deploy a working solution – workflow, reports, auto-discovery, connectors, request and approval forms and so on. This makes the solution much simpler than offerings from some of our larger competitors.”
