Integration and interoperability are lynchpins of digital transformation. Innovation is certainly steering the ship, but if all these fancy, future-forward software defined solutions don’t play nice together, it does not bode well. An organization’s network operations, for instance, requires myriad solutions working in lockstep to deliver the expected performance. Case in point, this week saw an industry-leading SD-WAN solution enhance its offering with a new integration.

InfoVista (News - Alert) announced its Ipanema Application Performance Orchestration Solution successfully integrated with the ZTE Micro Cloud Gateway (MCG) platform, creating a robust, application aware networking solution.

The new comprehensive solution offers a single box overlay solution for hybrid WAN connectivity, which promises security, one-button recovery, zero touch installation and meets the growing demands of the SaaS (News - Alert)-tastic era in which we live.

Also, service providers can leverage the platform to provide enterprises with a range of SD-WAN services to aid enterprise customer modernize operations.

“With this new certified interoperable SD-WAN solution, ZTE (News - Alert) and InfoVista have responded to customer demands to deliver a single-box networking platform for the digital enterprise, centrally orchestrated,” said Sylvain Quartier, senior vice president, product strategy enterprises, InfoVista. “Our objective is to deliver SD-WAN solutions that offer Application SLAs on top of any network, including the Internet. We have now tested our SD-WAN solution with eight network platform vendors in support of this vision and continue to grow our SD-WAN ecosystem. In the Applications Era, enterprises and service providers are looking for SD-WAN solutions that transform network architectures from complex to agile, while protecting critical business application performance.”

As a delivery mechanism, it’s tough to beat the cloud, as it alleviates the need for rigid architecture and equipment of yesteryear, at a far more pocket friendly price. Deploying a SD-WAN serves as a strong step in the process of a firm’s digital transformation.

“The successful verification by ZTE and InfoVista opens the way for hardware providers to collaborate seamlessly with application developers to drive new innovations in services and business models,” said Zhu Yongxing, Vice President of ZTE Corporation.”

Yes, customers come first. This we know. But business begins and ends with network. From collaborating among creatives to accessing Salesforce and ushering prospectives though the sales funnel, the network is integral. The only question I have for you is: What type of WAN are you working with?
