Broadsoft, a provider of software and services enabling cable service and fixed-line providers the ability to offer unified communications (UC) via their IP networks announced that is has surpassed 10 million hosted UC lines deployed. According to the company, this milestone demonstrates a growing demand for Broadsoft’s UC-One application.

According to a recent Infonetics (News - Alert) report, the global hosted PBX and UC services market is poised for some serious growth. The expectation is for the market to go from its 2014 value of $8.5 billion and reach over $12 billion by 2018. The top three markets from 2014 included the United States (49 percent market share), Asia-Pacific (24 percent market share) and the EMEA (22 percent market share).

Broadsoft is excited for what 2015 may bring; its UC-One application has already been deployed by OTT players, mobile and fixed service providers. The system unifies communications; it manages voice, video, business directories, call logs, IM and presence all on a single interface. The application functions seamlessly regardless of a user’s mobile device, type of service connectivity (on-premises or hosted PBX (News - Alert)) or type of connectivity.
