Today, it was announced that Fidelus (News - Alert) Technologies donated professional services to DonorsChoose.org. Fidelus, known for the provision of UC and collaboration technology, assigned a team to handle deployment that will also be responsible for project management, engineering, adoption and training for the solution.

Matt Kalmenson (News - Alert), VP of Sales and Marketing, explained why Fidelus chose to donate their services. "At Fidelus Technologies, we relate to and are inspired by DonorsChoose.org's story and mission. We operate under 10 core values including one to 'Be passionate and make it happen,' which is evident in everything DonorsChoose.org does," Kalmenson said.

DonorsChoose.org was blown away with the end-to-end guidance Fidelus is committed to providing.  César Bocanegra, COO at DonorsChoose.org, said, "We've been very impressed with the level of professionalism, efficiency, and expertise that Fidelus' staff members possess. DonorsChoose.org was founded in 2000; the not-for-profit supplies teachers with donations of books, art supplies, field trips, technology. The website works by teachers posting projects they wish to complete with students, and currently over 1.5 million people have donated over $300 million to projects they feel passionate about benefitting 13 million students.

This type of implementation is not new to Fidelus, it typically works with clients from beginning to end to ensure the solution is tailored exactly to the client needs. In this case, DonorsChoose.org was in need of an offering to allow a high level of collaboration and communication between its two main offices in New York and San Francisco.

The state of many of America’s schools is scary; the major lack of resources to supply teachers with the tools necessary to prepare children for the world is incredibly frightening. It is refreshing to see someone giving back get in return. I can’t help but quote Whitney Houston, “I believe the children are our future. Teach them well and let them lead the way,” only time will tell how many children are touched or how much is donated but one thing is clear philanthropy is a beautiful thing.
