Caribcast TV, an online TV provider that specializes in delivering content from the Caribbean, has launched a Google (News - Alert) TV application so viewers with Google TV-ready set-tops and connected TVs can stream shows on the big screen in the living room.
“Caribcast came to us wishing to reach a larger audience with their unique programming aimed at the Caribbean audience living away from their home,” said Nino Doijashvili, executive vice president at Tulix Systems, which enables the app. “We had already worked with them, placing them in the Roku Channel Store and installing our billing system to manage their subscription base. Once our billing-customer relationship management system was ready for Google TV, we quickly went into production for Caribcast.”
Tulix’ CRM and billing system supports a range of subscription models, including content aggregators that are offering multiple channels, tiers and varied pricing based upon which package the subscriber chooses. It also supports multiplatform and multiscreen strategies for traditional pay-TV providers as well as over-the-top (OTT) services. The software enables billing for streaming programming on PCs, Macs and multiple mobile devices as well as Roku, Neo TV, IPTV (News - Alert) systems and now Google TV.
“The solutions provided by Tulix Systems have been innovative, reliable and efficient; this has allowed the team at Caribcast to focus on new content and subscriber acquisition,” said Tyrone Robertson, president and CEO of Caribcast. “We are very excited about the release of the Android (News - Alert)/Google TV app and will immediately communicate this to our subscribers.”
“Caribcast is one of the first of many of our partners that are making their content available to new audiences through Google TV. We will be announcing our next round of Google TV application [s] in the next few weeks,” Doijashvili added.
