Wi-Fi Networks Even Faster With Amped Wireless BoostBand Technology

Amped Wireless, a company specializing in wireless solutions for the home and office, revealed a new BoostBand Technology firmware update for REC15A.

Lacey Neddo, brand/marketing manager of Amped Wireless stated that, “Our core focus, as a brand, is providing reliable long range Wi-Fi connections to our customers.”

“Range and speed go hand-in-hand as a slow, far-reaching signal is just as miserable as a fast, short-reaching signal. The development of our BoostBand Technology is just one more advancement in our pursuit to creating the best Wi-Fi solutions on the market. We give you extreme range, with ultra-fast speeds,” Neddo added.

The need for faster, longer range Wi-Fi continues to grow. Measuring just three inches by five inches, the REC15A which was launched in January 2014 is a high power compact AC Wi-Fi Range Extender that extends the range of an existing Wi-Fi network by nearly 5,000 sq. ft with ultra-fast 802.11ac speeds.

The REC15A can be discreetly installed in any outlet. The REC15A can also be set up wirelessly, using a tablet or laptop, in minutes. It is compatible with all brands of standard Wi-Fi routers and Internet service provider gateways. One additional wired port is built into the REC15A for connecting PCs, TVs, Blue-ray players, game consoles and any other network device.

Key security features includes parental controls like restricted access for certain users, time of day schedules to limit the network’s availability, and adjustable Wi-Fi coverage settings to reel in the signal strength.

The new technology is designed to increase the overall speed and performance of the Range Extender by streamlining dual band network traffic between the extender and the router through a single Wi-Fi frequency band.  Upon enabling, the BoostBand Technology routes all data through the fastest frequency band, normally the 5GHz 802.11ac connection to the router to take advantage of the increased bandwidth associated with the new Wi-Fi standard, resulting in faster downloads, media streaming and data transfers.

Users can still connect to the range extender using the 2.4GHz or 5.0GHz frequencies, noted the company.

The REC15A is priced at $99.99 and is available from the Amped Wireless Store.
