Motorola (News - Alert) Solutions, a provider of mission-critical communication solutions and services recently announced the launch of a new suite of solutions to enhance its wireless local area networks (WLAN) offerings. The solutions include VX 9000 software-based virtualized controller, NX 7500 multi-service platform, WiNG 5 operating system, EX 3500 wired Ethernet switch, WLAN Management Service and AirDefense (News - Alert) Bluetooth Monitoring.

Motorola’s WLAN suite of products focuses on access, management and security areas. Access includes Access Points, Unified Access Platforms, Wi-Fi over VDSL2, Ethernet Wallplate Switches and Accessories; management consists of WiNG OS, Network Design, Device Management and Application Provisioning; and security includes WIDS/WIPS, Secure Access, Firewall and FIPS.

The WiNG 5 is an advanced operating system which enables seamless operation of the entire infrastructure and efficient routing of all transmissions. Powered by WiNG 5 OS, the NX 7500 is a multi-service platform with multi-core processing engine and hardware cryptology and offers next-generation WLAN speed, flexibility, security and reliability for mid-size enterprises and campus environments. NX 7500 can manage up to 2,048 network elements, field upgradable to 10G, offers maximum protection of critical data, optional RAID-1 storage, provides optimal RF performance, speed and throughput.

VX 9000, a virtual controller powered by the WiNG Controller, is wireless, simple and cost efficient. VX 9000 centrally manages the entire wireless network through a single management windowpane and provides high-performance advanced wireless services, scalability and deployment flexibility. VX 9000 can support up to 25,000 access points in a single instance and can be scaled to support multiple instances. The economically viable and standalone solution, EX 3500 switch has been designed for unified wired and wireless networks. The innovative AirDefense Bluetooth Monitoring aids in detecting suspicious Bluetooth devices.
