Taiwan-based Edge-Core Networks has made life easier for MIS managers by introducing the latest new product line of Gigabit Ethernet plus Switches with “Push-to-Smart” technology.

Generally, network users plug in their own devices like wireless access points or wireless routers, which makes way for creating additional DHCP servers that causes network shutdowns or data path loops. All these issues can be solved by deploying the new “Push-to-Smart” button switches, say officials at Edge-Core Networks.

Instead of the complicated web interface, the new product line offers a simple “Push-to-Smart” button that enables the MIS managers to complete the functions easily at their office front-end site. The newly introduced SMC EZ Switch SMCGS2410 works on a single button to change the unmanaged switch to a smart switch.

Albert Li, product line manager at Edge-Core Network said, “SMC EZ Switch SMCGS2410 is the first switch to use a single button to change your unmanaged switch to smart switch. DHCP prevention and loop-back detection & prevention provide a better network environment, saving MIS engineers’ troubleshooting effort.”

Albert Li pointed out that the new switch provides DoS attack protection to reduce virus attack opportunities and is environmentally friendly consuming less power than non-Green Ethernet switches, without reducing network performance.

The company has announced that the new “Push-to-Smart” product line hit the market in Q4/2013 and Q1/2014, including 24/16/8-port Gigabit Switch with “Push-to-Smart” Button and 24/10-port Gigabit PoE Switch with “Push-to-Smart” and 2 SFP uplink.
