EarthLink Carrier, the wholesale and carrier division of EarthLink, has just completed the rollout of its T-1 and Ethernet services in the Southeast.
The solution delivers integrated voice and data, data-only T-1s, NxT-1s and Ethernet in its Southeast markets including Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
EarthLink Carrier specializes in delivering facilities-based wholesale telecommunications to Inter-Exchange Carriers (IXC), wireless carriers, Competitive Local Exchange Carriers (CLECs), Local Exchange Carriers (LECs), Internet Service Providers (ISPs), VoIP providers, resellers, content providers, and cable companies.
"Our customers spoke, and we listened, adding 2,877 new central offices to our data only T-1 and NxT-1 footprint and 1,190 new central offices to our integrated T-1 and NxT-1 footprint," said Patrick Hannon, senior vice president, EarthLink Carrier, in a statement.
"The addition of Ethernet and our expanded coverage allow us to offer a scalable and cost effective solution to traditional TDM services,” Hannon added. “We know that there is a lot of demand, and we are ready to help our customers offer them to their client base."
The T-1 service is a 4-wire DS1 that provides connection from the EarthLink Carrier network to an end user location and ranges from 1.5mb per T-1 up to 12mb when bonded.
The service provides Ethernet access ranging from 2MB through 1000MB, EarthLink Carrier said.
EarthLink, the parent company of EarthLink Carrier, empowers customers with managed services including cloud computing, managed and private cloud, and virtualization services such as managed hosting and cloud workspace.
TMC (News - Alert), a global, integrated media company, recently named EarthLink's Private Cloud Hosting solution for The College Network as a 2013 Cloud Computing Excellence Award winner presented by Cloud Computing Magazine.
This is the second Cloud Computing Excellence Award for EarthLink and demonstrates the company’s mission to deliver an enterprise-class cloud solution that doesn't require customers to compromise security, features or functionality, said Tom Hobika, senior vice president of IT Services.
