Belden Inc. announced the launch of DataTuff TC Cat 5e Cord Sets for use with TC Listed industrial Ethernet cable. The newly launched cord sets combined with RJ45 connectors are designed for use in heavy-duty industrial applications leveraging 600V cable trays. The cord sets enable easy routing of industrial Ethernet cables while also reducing installation costs and risks associated with field failures and safety concerns.

With heavy industrial equipment migrating to Ethernet controls, one of the challenges being faced by the industry is to enable communication signals to traverse without any interference across the field or plant installation. The newly launched cord sets address this problem by tackling the unique challenges of standard commercial cabling solutions.

The DataTuff TC Cat 5e shielded cable is designed for easy deployment with pre-existing 600V cable trays, thus reducing exorbitant costs associated with the need to replace the cable trays as with other solutions. The new cord sets are available with a family of 600V AWM connectivity solutions enable seamless transition of signals from the cable tray to industrial applications within NEC (News - Alert)-rated enclosures. The cables are built using 18 AWG conductors to deliver the required rating standards for the cord sets to enable routing of signals through the widely used 600V cables.

The new sets of DataTuffTC cord sets are developed using Bonded-Pair Technology, a patented technology developed by Belden for binding the stand-alone insulated conductors with the entire length of the cable to eliminate any perceived performance-hindering gaps between two pairs of conductors. The unique design of these products is ideal for use in other heavy duty applications such as machinery, industrial mobile equipment and deployments in vehicles.
