tw telecom has recently forged new agreement with Pacnet (News - Alert), a provider of managed data connectivity solutions in the Asia Pacific region, to offer its E-Access Ethernet service.

This new partnership will allow Pacnet to start a new foothold in the U.S. business market by establishing an E-NNI (external network-to-network interconnection) agreement with tw telecom (News - Alert).

As per the new agreement, tw telecom is offering the Hong Kong-based service provider its "One to Many" Ethernet service from their submarine cable landing stations in Chicago, Los Angeles and New Jersey.

By utilizing the "One to Many" E-Access network service, Pacnet can get high quality access to U.S.-based customers needing to connect their locations to offices throughout the Asia-Pacific region, including China, India, and Australia.

"The Asia-Pacific region has seen explosive growth over the past several years and more-and-more U.S. based companies are either looking to expand their current operations in the region or create new operations – particularly in China and India," said Cardi Prinzi, President-Enterprise Markets for Pacnet.  "Connecting tw telecom's incredible U.S.-based fiber assets to Pacnet's network of sub-sea fiber, connecting the U.S. to the rest of Asia, will help us provide a higher level of service to our customers."

tw telecom is assisting Pacnet to build its network presence in the U.S. by providing a ready-made infrastructure that helps it to quickly and easily reach their end-user locations across a secure, scalable and predictable network.

"Pacnet recognizes the need for a secure and scalable network as they roll out business critical applications to their customers," said Tom Marx, President of tw telecom's Wholesale Services.  "Many carriers typically do not have their own network to connect everywhere they need to go, so they look to tw telecom to provide secure, scalable and predictable network connections and solutions that help them deliver applications to their customers' thousands of locations.   Carriers that use E-Access can also avoid capital investments, reduce operating costs and more easily manage their network capability."

The competitive provider, tw telecom recently announced that its fiber services are available in 30 data centers in the Bay Area.
