AAS Technology Announces Addition of New Ethernet Over Coax Extender Kit to the Portfolio

Those looking to extend the reach of their broadband signals via coaxial cable while maintaining high-speed network connectivity can now consider the new Ethernet over Coax Extender Kit, PoEoC-15K from AAS Technology, a subsidiary of UTP Balun and Sentry US, offering all CCTV cable transmission solutions.

As quoted by AAS Technology, the new Ethernet over Coax Extender Kit can extend the transmission distance of power and Ethernet signal up to 200~300m / 600ft~900ft over coaxial cable by leveraging RF technology. It facilitates users to run their connection through an in-place coaxial cable with little network modification.  It incorporates the following:

  • PoE Over Coax Extender device unit
  • PoE Over Coax Extender host unit
  • Manual – data sheet

For installation, users are required to first plug PoEoC-15-D network connector into the Ethernet port on their IP Camera, connect a coaxial cable between the PoEoC-15-HOST and the PoEoC-15-D, and then connect PoEoC-15-HOST Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on their PoE Ethernet switch or PoE Injector and Ethernet Switch.

Note: the PoEoC-15-HOST is Ethernet over Coax Extender Kit’s Powered Sourcing Equipment (PSE), and the PoEoC-15-D is the Ethernet over Coax Extender Kit’s Powered Device (PD).

Next, the PoE power and signal from PoE switch or PoE injector is fed into the PoEoC-15-HOST and transmitted over coaxial cable. The PoEoC-15-D receives the signal and power from coaxial cable and converts it back to a PoE interface.

The new Ethernet over Coax Extender Kit supports multi-camera installations within a network and installation is seamless as no complex set up is required for integration within current infrastructure. This feature makes the kit an ideal solution to implement a full-scale CCTV solution.

Featuring extend PoE signal over coax and 10/100Mbps/full duplexer, the new Ethernet over Coax Extender Kit is according to AAS Technology also ideal for a number of complex installation applications including overcoming infrastructure obstacles and building networks over great distances, such as in areas of stone architecture where building wireless networks may be unfeasible financial or practically impossible.

Making use of the existing coax cable and BNC connector / RJ45, the new Ethernet over Coax Extender Kit is built with high security features to protect installation personnel. It offers dual stage surge protection to ensure complete safety on the job site.

In recent news, AAS Technology also introduced a new range of CCTV and PC baluns to provide greater data connectivity over longer distances of cable.
