In the spirit of this Tuesday’s webinar explaining the relationship between Patton (News - Alert) gateways and 3CX VoIP phone systems, VoIP supply recently had the opportunity to speak to Patton’s Product Manager, Tyler Delin, about why customers should choose Patton, and what distinguishes its performance from competitors. When placed in the hot seat, Delin did more than deliver.
Founded in 1984, Patton Electronics strives to simplify access to the global network by manufacturing high-quality modems and connectivity products, and continues to build its expertise in integrated network access, transmission, and IP and frame relay technologies.
When asked, “Why Patton?” Delin commented on their fan-base, saying, “Our customers aren’t quiet about why they chose Patton. There are other great gateways out there, but time and time again they rave about the quality of this SmartNode product and our customer support. Our customers will tell you they choose our gateways because they just work. Set it up. Forget about it. It just keeps working.”
So what does Patton do, and where is it located? Delin explained some of the company’s rich history, including taking its simple beginnings and expanding into a manufacturing company which today has over 170 employees and provides over 1,000 products. Delin also explained how “Patton equipment is up-and-running in carrier, enterprise and industrial networks all over the world.”
Their headquarters are located right outside of Washington DC in the well-known “technology corridor,” as well as having regional offices across the globe and technical-support centers in Switzerland, Hungary, Italy, Lebanon, India and Vietnam, but they proudly make it known that all of their SmartNode Gateways are manufactured right here in the United States.
What is SmartNode, other than a product made in the US? Delin clarified, “A SmartNode is a gateway to voice-over-IP as it integrates IP and TDM communications. Our most common applications are to connect traditional phones and PBX (News - Alert) to a VoIP service provider (SIP Trunking) or the other way around where we are connecting an IP PBX to the PSTN. A SmartNode is really just that. A smart-node.”
Delin also elaborated on why Patton Gateways and 3CX phone systems specifically work so well together, saying how their partnership with 3CX was established “since they first came onto the scene,” and how Patton has been their preferred gateway ever since. Perfect for individuals who aren’t familiar with gateways, 3CX makes it quick and easy to configure with step-by-step instructions located on their web page. Combined with their top-of-line quality products and a “phenomenal” customer support team (calling hours of 8 AM to 5 PM with guaranteed response and 24/7 support for an additional cost), Patton has evolved into “a wonderful solution for the marketplace.”
SmartNode is compatible with all major IP PBX, softswitch and VoIP Service Providers worldwide, and all of their products come with a one year warranty, with the option of a one to five year enhanced warranty for an additional cost which includes advanced replacement and provides next day-priority shipment free of charge.
