Telco Acquisition of Charles' Broadband MUXs Improves Cellular Backhaul

Telco Systems announced that it has acquired broadband multiplexer product line from Charles Industries (News - Alert). With this acquisition agreement, Telco will be able to offer a complete range of solutions for cellular backhaul.

Charles Industries, Ltd. is a privately owned diversified manufacturing and technology company which offers servicing of telecommunications, marine and industrial markets. The company is ISO 9000 and TL 9000 certified.
Exchange Mux (Multiplexers) and Mini-Mux broadband multiplexers are the products of Charles Industries, which are acquired by Telco Systems. These products support a wide range of transmission options including T1/E1, T3
Charles Industry’s Mini-Mux 2000 uses the latest Ethernet over PDH (EoPDH) technology to map Ethernet into DS3 or DS1 facilities to support Ethernet and T1
The acquired products complement the Telco Systems’ EdgeLink solutions, which have been successfully deployed in Tier 1 networks over the past 10 years.
Dave Lee, vice president of business development for Telco Systems said, in the press release: “The broadband products developed by Charles Industries will extend our EdgeLink solution set to include features and technologies such as Ethernet
Telco Systems will retain an R&D team and research facility also which is located in Pleasanton, California, according to the acquisition agreement.
Telco Systems' key focus is to maximize the power of their customers' networks by integrating transport, access and packet technologies onto industry-leading platforms, thereby helping all network demands to be met.
