Octava Inc., a specialist in HD video distribution, recently announced the release of the HDCATS-100, which combines and extends the following 4 signal formats: 1080P HD digital video/audio, Infrared I.R., Serial Data, and Ethernet over 1 single CAT 6 cable up to 300 ft.
The HDCATS-100 allows pre-existing CAT5e/6 cable infrastructure to transport HD video / audio, IR, serial data, and Ethernet. Ethernet cables and connectors can also be easily field terminated, making it extremely simple for installers to easily install the proper length cable that is required for ultimate flexibility. This also removes logistics problems of having custom length video cables. The HDCATS-100 is ideal for pre-wired systems requiring HD video distribution- no new wiring required.
The HDCATS-100 HDMI over CAT5e/6 Extender enables transmission of HDMI, 100baseT Ethernet data Serial data (RS-232) and IR over 1 single CAT-5 / 6. Infrared Extension enables I.R. signals to be sent from viewing area to the equipment room. The HDCATS-100 HDMI Extender consists of a HDMI Transmitter and an HDMI Receiver.
