At Enterprise Connect this year I caught up with Mike Long (News - Alert), marketing manager at Tadiran, and Michael Davis, SVP of sales and GM, Americas at Tadiran, to discuss the company’s software-based system, Aeonix, and its recent move to Amazon Web Services (News - Alert) (AWS).  

Earlier this month, Tadiran announced its Aeonix platform is now available on AWS to enable businesses to take advantage of the benefits of cloud-based deployments. The move is part of Tadiran’s “Bring Your Own Cloud” approach, which helps businesses select a cloud service provider that best meets their needs, offering cost savings, scalability and ease of deployment, management and maintenance.

A hybrid cloud solution lets you expand your company’s capacity without the cost and burden of onsite improvements. The Amazon Cloud combined with the Tadiran Aeonix UC&C software solution gives companies access to a wealth of data, as well as raw computing power and storage space. 

Davis explained to me that Aenoix offers key things that no one else brings: disaster recovery, ease of integration points with other SIP platforms, reliability and more. The partnership with AWS means Tadiran can bring the cloud to users anywhere, anytime.

Some big trends in the industry right now are mobility and video, so users can leave the office without actually leaving the office. Davis explains the demand in video, peer-to-peer communication and incorporating video on phones. He says it’s important to have the ability to see coworkers and employees especially when everyone is working remotely.  

They also explained that Tadiran is relatively unknown in the telecom space, but has a strong, loyal customer base, platform and presence despite the lack of mainstream awareness. It doesn’t layer different applications and products on top of itself – “We don’t compete with ourselves,” they said – and it keeps margins healthy with partners. “We’re the best-kept secret in telephony,” Davis said.
