The enterprise cloud is a new frontier of efficiency and productivity. The cloud creates an avenue for firms to easily deploy, monitor and manage solutions while improving overall operations in the process. This week, riding the enterprise cloud wave, Magento Commerce announced the general availability of its Magento Enterprise Cloud Edition.

The Platform-as-a-Service, runs on Amazon Web Services (News - Alert) (AWS) and was created to provide scalable and secure web storefronts, is fully customizable and speeds the deployment process. The alphabet that is the enterprise cloud is garnering momentum. PaaS, for instance, allows firms to develop unique cloud-based applications and this is announcement is yet another signal toward a software-based future.

"We combined a highly performant and scalable PaaS platform with everything our clients love about Magento -- the ability to try, test and deploy new customizations to their stores in a continuous manner with no dependencies on our product roadmap or release schedule."

Magento explains that unlike other offerings in the space, the Magento Enterprise Cloud offers merchant the ability to stay ahead of technology innovation, simplified integration and provide unique customer experiences. What’s new today can very easily be old hat tomorrow, so when dealing with cutting edge development it is important to position one’s firm in a way that it can adapt to market and technology evolution.

The PaaS is celebrated for working with AWS, as it offers users a secure and scalable environment to do business.

Regardless of industry, the enterprise cloud is taking hold. Recently, we reported that ServiceNow is moving to buy ITapp as well as Google moving full steam into the space. Pioneers in the space are not stuck on their heels either, as recently Stackspace released a public beta for its new SaaS (News - Alert) solution.
