There's no doubt that the enterprise cloud has been one of the biggest contributors to a more mobile workforce. The ability to access data from a wide array of locations and put said data to use is valuable by any reckoning. Of course, more moving parts mean more potential points of failure, and the enterprise cloud certainly allows for a lot more in the way of moving parts. To help provide some protection for the enterprise cloud and its most popular apps, Druva has stepped up its data protection mechanisms to help.

More specifically, Druva stepped up its inSync system, which essentially consolidates points of access into one central point, making all roads lead to inSync, and thus making it easier to protect. The inSync system is now capable of working with Box, Exchange Online, and Google (News - Alert) Apps for Work, and routes all that data through one central point where it can be better monitored and managed. That also helps in terms of automating backup systems and makes archiving a simpler matter, a point which is handy for many businesses and a matter of legal requirement for some. Throw in full-text search capability and compliance templates and satisfying legal requirements like those in HIPAA become that much easier. Those interested can start in with the Box (News - Alert) and Office 365 versions now, and Google Apps will reach full availability next month.

Druva's CEO, Jaspreet Singh, commented “Today’s businesses need a single solution for data availability and corporate governance – eDiscovery, audit, search and compliance management covering data on cloud apps and endpoints – and that’s what Druva is delivering. This expanded data protection follows the user, something that is imperative as enterprises make use of new cloud services while working to adhere to data availability and corporate governance policies.”

The mobile workforce has provided a lot of benefit. Greater flexibility means that time zone concerns are a lot less weighty than once was the case, and greater flexibility at work—assuming it works both ways—also has great morale-boosting potential for employees who can now get work done early, or elsewhere, and see a child's school play or the like. Protecting the data that's created and used in that process, however, is vital to the process' ongoing health, and that's where tools like Druva inSync come into play. Keeping that data safe means that it can be used effectively by the group that generated it, keeping its integrity solid and its usefulness intact.

The system as a whole works better when it's safe, and that's where Druva can really come in handy. A mobile workforce whose output is secure is more likely to keep going, and the enterprise cloud systems that drive that workforce need the right tools to maintain security.
