Automation has recently been a common theme for enterprises, service providers and data centers. All are tasked with handling an increased number of connected devices across all types of networks, sometimes distributed environments. Automating routine tasks subject to human error can be a massive advantage for many applications, particularly security.


ServiceNow (News - Alert), a company specializing in managing and automating workflows in service-oriented and cloud environments, has integrated identity access technology into its offering to address the need for automation. The company has incorporated the Centrify Identity-as-a-Service (IDaaS) and Privilege Identity Management solutions into its platform to address customer access concerns for an increasing number of devices and applications – in an automated fashion.

The addition of identity access is a massive benefit for service providers and consulting firms like Integrhythm, which offers the ServiceNow Service Delivery Platform to its customers. As a design partner with ServiceNow, the company provides IT asset management and also takes advantage of testing and development to come up with the best possible applications and integrations of the platform, particularly for automation.

“ServiceNow has done a good job of being a service automation platform,” said Shreyas Sadalgi, senior vice-president of business development at Centrify. He added that the company’s platform is helpful not just for IT, but for automating HR, procurement and other department functions.

That’s certainly a sweet spot for Integrhythm, which offers HR service management, project and portfolio management and consulting on IT governance, risk and compliance. The company also provides guidance on private cloud orchestration and management as well as insight on DevOps automation. Finally, Integrhythm guides its customers on program management, business alignment, overall corporate and operations governance and financial management.

The Centrify integration now offers a full range of identity service automation including preconfigured policy, federated identity and automated user account provisioning. Additional benefits include the ability to request access to apps available in the ServiceNow Catalog and track request progress. The result is that identity management can be implemented and monitored in a few clicks instead of taking days to achieve.
