AudioCodes VoIP Solution Now Certified for Genesys

By Tracey E. Schelmetic, TMCnet Contributor

Voice over IP solutions provider, AudioCodes (News - Alert) is announcing today that its Mediant Enterprise 3000 Session Border Controller (E-SBC) has achieved certification with AT&T IP Flex Reach SIP Trunking for use with Genesys (News - Alert) IP contact center applications. Thanks to this new certification, IT managers and network systems integrators will be able to design new Genesys contact center solutions (or migrate existing ones) using AT&T’s (News - Alert) IP Flex Reach SIP trunking services.

AudioCodes said the goal was to offer more options and more flexibility to customers, and position itself to become even more competitive.

“At Genesys, we know that contact centers are heavily dependent on both inbound and outbound telephone traffic, making them very sensitive to the reliability and costs of those services,” said Richard Barton, director of Product Management at Genesys Telecommunications. “Achieving certification by AT&T of IP Flex Reach with AudioCodes Mediant E-SBCs, along with Genesys, will make our contact center customers more cost competitive, while maintaining utmost reliability.”

AudioCodes’ family of Enterprise Session Border Controllers (E-SBC) is designed for service providers and businesses looking to migrate to a voice-over-IP-based communications infrastructure. Located at the business premises, the E-SBC acts as the demarcation point between the business’s VoIP network and service providers’ SIP-based services. The new certification will expand the options available to end users.

Solution certification of this kind involves in-depth product testing in a lab setting to ensure that a solution holds up to the standards set by the certification body. Many technology and service providers require that any solution that is sold (or resold) under its auspices or works together with its own solutions be certified to ensure that there are no interoperability issues.  In this case, the certification was performed at the AudioCodes North American Interoperability Lab in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. The Interoperability Lab was constructed under the guidance of Genesys and hosted a fully operational Genesys SIP Server alongside various AudioCodes gateways and Session Border Controllers.

“We are pleased to have achieved this important certification milestone with AT&T and Genesys,” said Sharone Ben-Levi (News - Alert), VP Marketing and Business Development, North America at AudioCodes. “AudioCodes’ E-SBCs successfully demonstrated their ability to integrate two strategic technology partners that is expected to open new opportunities for Genesys, a leading contact center software platform, and AT&T, a leading provider of SIP Trunking services.”

Genesys offer solutions for most aspects of call center business, including call management for inbound and outbound contact centers, social customer service and workforce optimization.
