AudioCodes Expands Qualified Line of Enhanced Gateways and Survivable Branch Appliances for Enterprises
Israel’s Voice over IP (VoIP) solutions provider AudioCodes (News - Alert) has announced expansion of its line of products qualified in Microsoft's (News - Alert) UC Open Interoperability Program for Microsoft Lync 2010. With these announcements, AudioCodes is providing enhanced gateways and survivable branch appliances (SBAs) for any size of branch office or business, ranging from small enterprise branches to very large enterprise locations.
“We have been working very closely with AudioCodes for several years,”said Kevin Carswell, chairman and CEO of The Via Group, in a statement.
He added, “The addition of their high availability Mediant 3000 enhanced gateway for large enterprise headquarters and regional offices and the Mediant 800 enhanced gateway and SBA for survivable branch solutions for small locations to their Mediant 1000 and 2000 enhanced gateways and SBAs enables The Via Group to offer our customers the most comprehensive scaling and reliability options available on the market today fromAudioCodes.”
Similarly, Kapil Sharma, principal group program manager, Lync Partner Engineering Team at Microsoft commented, “Ever since we started our Unified Communications (News - Alert) Open Interoperability Program, we've been working with AudioCodes.”
“Mediant 800 SBA, announced by AudioCodes, will help our distributed enterprise customers provide cost-effective survivable branch solutions for their small locations. The Mediant 3000 enhanced gateway will support large enterprise customers that need highly available media gateways, supporting thousands of simultaneous, high-quality calls between Lync clients and the Public Switched Telephone Network,” he continued.
AudioCodes said that Mediant 800 SBA is based on the the company’s Mediant 800 multi-service business gateway with an integrated dual core, high performance Intel (News - Alert)-based Server, FXS, FXO, BRI and E1/T1 PSTN interface options, PoE switch, router and multiple WAN access options. While Mediant 3000 enhanced gateway is a highly available, high density media gateway for large enterprise locations, with up to 2000 PSTN channels using E1/T1, T3 or STM-1/OC-3 connections, and integrated enterprise session border controller or E-SBC.
