Parkmobile USA launched a new service in Tampa, Florida which will allow residents, businesses and visitors to make their parking transactions via mobile phone.
According to officials, the Parkmobile native mobile application has ben launched for the iPhone, and Android (News - Alert), Windows, and Blackberry powered smart phones as well.
Cherie Fuzzell, CEO of Parkmobile USA said, “Parkmobile is very excited to add Tampa to its growing list of cities and operators in Florida who have chosen to offer our mobile payment parking service.”
To use the Parkmobile system customers are required to register at www.parkmobile.com and download a mobile app which is free of cost. Following successful registration customers can leverage the mobile app, or go online to make the payment. They can also call toll free to pay for parking.
The various payment options are clearly highlighted on the signage. After setting up the account, customers can use the system with their registered mobile phone almost immediately. The application allows the setting of text message alerts and reminders 15 minutes before the parking session expires.
“We feel confident that Tampa, FL will be an ideal setting to showcase not only how local citizens can take advantage of this convenient means of payment but, also how loyal Parkmobile members are from the surrounding cities in Florida that also offer Parkmobile and can use their current Parkmobile account to pay for parking,” added Fuzzell.
Parkmobile specializes in providing seamless integrated end-to-end solutions for mobile payments, parking guidance using business analytics and parking. The solutions enable mobile payments for on and off-street parking, digital parking permits, real-time enforcement in order to deliver a seamless transit experience.
Recently, parking meters were upgraded on Ninth Street and Broadway in New York allowing users to pay for parking spots via debit or credit card or a smartphone app. The meters also allow the option of paying through the Mobile Park smartphone application available to download. The meters will accept coins and debit or credit cards, but not the city EZ park cards. Paying by credit or debit card requires a two-hour minimum charge.
