Cloud computing is emerging as a rapidly expanding technology across a number of technology sectors and markets across the globe, to offer enhanced portability, security and flexibility to both enterprise and individual users.
Hewlett Packard (HP), a provider of advanced solutions related to printing, personal computing, software, services and IT infrastructure, recently introduced a new cloud-based management solution that enables the users to approach applications and data from any mobile device in a secure manner from any location.
Titled HP Enterprise Cloud Services, the new offering comes under the HP Converged Cloud portfolio of products that allow companies to develop and run a range of IT services with the help of a set of technologies and services.
Leveraging the new solution, enterprises can use a number of tools and services in a customized manner to achieve secure application access and file storage. Further, they can also share the files upon a number of mobile platforms and devices such as mobile phones and tablets. Enterprises can also specify various security policies and access controls so that their important corporate assets, applications and data remain completely safe.
Additionally, users can also download a range of authenticated enterprise applications, upload files and synchronize their vital data between mobile devices and the HP cloud infrastructure through a secure and trustworthy medium. The data is encrypted at a number of levels to ensure maximum assurance regarding the safety of valuable soft assets of the companies.
Cloud file storage capacity of the HP Enterprise Cloud Services can also be configured to be flexibly increased or decreased, while the address data sovereignty and compliance requirements are satisfactorily met with through a number of local storage options as well.

In April 2012, the U.S. Army selected HP Enterprise Services to provide the Department of Defense and other federal agencies with enterprise cloud computing services under the Army Private Cloud contract (APC2) under a $249 million cloud services contract.
