Next month at Telematics Japan in Tokyo, RealVNC (News - Alert) will be showcasing its in-vehicle mobile technology. With a vehicle's touchscreen or fixed input devices such as steering wheel switches and head unit buttons, VNC Automotive can automatically detect, access and control virtually any mobile device or desktop computer.
While on the move, drivers can access their mobile content, such as navigation applications, traffic updates, music libraries and internet radio stations with VNC Automotive. In order to access vehicle data and systems from a remote location, the technology provides a link for automotive OEMs.
It also enables cloud connectivity to a remote desktop and other cloud-based applications.
To restrict or prohibit access to certain functions that may cause distraction while driving, VNC Automotive's extensive capabilities to implement driver safety mechanisms will be demonstrated by RealVNC.
RealVNC is also a core member of the Car Connectivity Consortium. For smartphone users in their vehicles, it remains committed to providing a safe and seamless experience.
For mobile-to-vehicle integration, VNC Automotive (above) is the most robust and advanced standard that continues to be widely adopted. Jaguar Land Rover, RIM, Clarion, Wipro, Cybercom, Denso, STMicroelectronics (News - Alert), Visteon, Teleca and QNX along with some of the world's largest automotive, infotainment, OEM and Tier 1 manufacturers have partnered with RealVNC.
“We are already working with many of the major consumer electronics companies and automotive manufacturers in the Far East, so Telematics Japan provides the ideal opportunity to showcase the latest developments of VNC Automotive,” said Tom Blackie (News - Alert), vice president Mobile, RealVNC.
Blackie and the rest of the RealVNC is delighted that their technology remains at the forefront of this integration seeing that the market for connecting smartphones and vehicles continues to accelerate at a great pace.
Connectivity protocols such as MirrorLink and Apple's (News - Alert) iPod Out are furthermore supported by VNC Automotive.
