Allied Electronics, a trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE: ECM), recently announced that it has signed a distribution agreement with Siemens (News - Alert) Corporation, a U.S. subsidiary of Siemens AG. According to the terms of the agreement, Allied will now distribute Siemens' low-voltage products, including motor controls, pilot devices and communication devices.
Siemens Low and Medium Voltage help the clients increase energy efficiency and improve productivity. With these products, clients can avoid expensive power interruptions, equipment breakdowns and start-up costs. The solutions are widely used in an airport, hospital, data center, food processing facility, shopping center, homesite and basement remodel.
"The partnership between Siemens and Allied underscores our commitment to industrial automation, one of the fastest-growing segments of Allied's business," says Scott McLendon, vice president of product management and marketing at Allied. "Providing technology-leading solutions from a global leader like Siemens allows us to better meet the needs of engineers who are constantly challenged to produce efficient designs for ever-changing applications."
Allied Electronics is a small order, high service level distributor of electronic components and electromechanical products with over 50 sales offices across the United States and Canada. With more than two million parts online and more than 110,000 products featured in the Allied Catalog, engineers and purchasers often look to Allied for a broad range of product solutions from over 300 world-class suppliers.
