Dialogic (News - Alert) Inc., provider of solutions for mobile video, voice and data for 3G and 4G networks has recently teamed up with enterprise content management provider, OpenText to validate a joint Fax over IP (FoIP) solution. The combined FoIP solution will consist of Dialogic’s Brooktrout (News - Alert) SR140 Fax Software and OpenText's RightFax solution, across multiple SIP trunking providers' networks.
Though still in early adoption phases, FoIP can deliver a range of new operational efficiencies in the datacenter and across managed corporate networks in industries such as healthcare, finance and insurance. "Fax traffic continues to significantly consume public network services. By working closely with OpenText, we are able to validate FoIP on various SIP Trunking provider networks such that our mutual customers can benefit from this emerging IP carrier service," said Franz-Josef Eberle, VP and general manager of the VAS and Cloud Enabling Unit of Dialogic. "OpenText has been and continues to be a stellar Dialogic partner, and we look forward to continuing our strong collaboration in the future." OpenText is an overall fax server supplier and a provider in the fax over IP (FoIP) market.
According to Dialogic, SIP-based VoIP is a technology driving SIP Trunking adoption to displace the PSTN for business voice traffic; however, this brings about additional network requirements. Dialogic and OpenText are addressing these network requirements and improving FoIP service for customers. Utilizing T.38 fax protocol, the solution will provide interoperability and reliability to deliver secure, FoIP services for enterprises and hosted service providers."Delivering document management solutions that are both innovative and efficient is at the heart of our business, and as the FoIP market continues to grow, it is increasingly important that we help both our customers and channel partners enhance their competitive edge," said Matthew Brine, VP, Fax and Document Distribution at OpenText. "By working with Dialogic, we are able to do just that. With this validation, we can be confident that when a customer or partner goes to deploy our solution, it will be effective and efficient -- benefitting their overall operations."
