Westcon to Distribute RedSky E911 Solutions

Westcon Group, an IT distributor specializing in networking technology, has signed a new distribution agreement with RedSky Technologies, a provider of enterprise E911 solutions and services.



Under the terms of the deal, Westcon will distribute two of RedSky's (News - Alert) high-performance E911 software solutions, E911 Manager and E911 Anywhere. These solutions are now available for purchase through Westcon Group (News - Alert) North America. In addition, RedSky is also participating in Westcon’s ConvergencePoint program.
 
E911 Manager is a high-performance enterprise-wide server-based E911 solution that works withinAvaya, Cisco and Nortel networking environments. RedSky’s E911 Anywhere Hosted solution provides E911 functionality to small- and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) through a monthly service plan.

Crucial to public safety since a caller could be anywhere, E911 services enable businesses to identify exactly where a user is located.
 
Because of the effectiveness and reliability of E911 services, traditional wireline phones are being used less and less. They rely on a physical network to find a caller’s location.
 
RedSky E911 solutions drive effective emergency response in these environments as well as in IP-based wired and wireless networks.

“With over 14 States requiring E911 solutions for enterprise voice alone, there is a fantastic opportunity for resellers to capitalize on solutions that deliver critical E911 functionality. Ken Apperson, co-founder and CVO of Quagga, a Northern California based System Integrator, explained that an increasing amount of services will need to serve the wireless arena as more businesses recognize the benefits of unified communications.
