E911 Hosted Solutions and SIP Trunking Oh My! Let 911 ETC Guide You
By Jaclyn Allard, TMCnet Web Editor
The popularity of SIP trunking is steadily increasing due to its cost-effectiveness and its reliability as backed by the SLAs of SIP trunk providers. A survey, conducted by Voice Report, of 138 IT decision-makers from multiple enterprises shows a little more than one-third of the respondents are implementing SIP trunking services “in a substantial manner” and “56 percent plan to increase their investments in this technology in 2011,” according to a press release on TMCnet.
BizTechReports says the trend toward SIP trunking is taking place despite “significant levels of confusion and trepidation about SIP trunking.” Cost, reliability and interoperability are some of the concerns voiced by survey respondents, as well as E911 with the increase in legislation.
As an organization makes this transition to SIP trunking, how does E911 come into play? Let 911 ETC address your concerns and inquiries. During a Lunch and Learn webinar, Michael Anderson (News - Alert), 911 ETC’s National sales director, will explain how SIP trunking can be used to an organization’s benefit when it comes to meeting E911 legislation for:
- Traditional TDM

- Remote users with VoIP/softphones
