911 ETC, Carousel Industries Help from Point A to Point B with E911 Hosted Solutions for IP-PBX

By Jaclyn Allard, TMCnet Web Editor

911 ETC, Inc., a provider of E911 hosted solutions for the enterprise and SMB markets, revealed today, Jan. 20, a strategic partnership with Carousel Industries of North America, a provider of design, delivery and support technology such as unified communications, VoIP, videoconferencing, etc. The joint venture is to focus on providing enterprises with E911 hosted solution services for PBX (News - Alert) and IP-PBX.

An IP-PBX is a business telephone system designed to deliver voice or video over a data network, interoperating with the normal Public Switched Telephone Network. 911 ETC and Carousel plan to successfully provide services for PBX and IP-PBX by offering clients a fully managed E911 hosted solution for TDM, VoIP, or possibly a hybrid of the two.

As guest contributor for TMC (News - Alert), and more importantly, Regional Account Manager of 911 ETC, Kevin Kito, wrote, “The beginning stage of transferring over to VoIP is by far the easiest and most cost-effective time for an organization to address E911.” Kito explained that when a company transitions its voice communication system from TDM to VoIP, and E911 hosted solutions are not considered when rolling out a new VoIP phone system, time and money can be wasted. 911 ETC and Carousel, however, are striving to help from point A to point B, whether the TDM system is staying or an upgrade to VoIP is on its way in, and plan to do so meeting E911 mandates across the nation.

In a statement, Bill Svien, vice president of Corporate Strategy for 911 ETC, said, “The national footprint of each company, along with the shared, intense commitment to customer service will provide our clients with a unified communications platform that offers superb workplace safety.”

911 ETC, Inc., continues to make strong partnerships and focus on beneficial next steps in the E911 hosted solutions industry. Towards the end of 2010, TMC reported 911 ETC working with ECaTS Solutions from Direct Technology, allowing 9-1-1 centers and companies to work together to protect what matters most – people. ECaTS products and services enable 9-1-1 and Public Safety providers to leverage the Internet to capture real-time statistics from any PSAP in their jurisdiction. With the use of an Internet browser and ECaTS, these agencies can produce standard reports and fully customizable reports for both call detail records and trunk usage.
